The origins of Cross Group date back to the mid-19th century and to the centre of Cork city - where two members of the Cross family started a carriage hire and stables business. During the 1920s, Cross's Garage Ltd extended their business extended to the sale of ice boxes and mechanical domestic refrigeration.
Our early sales ledgers show that our first commercial coldroom was sold in the early 1930s to the Royal Oyster Tavern in Cork - a famous city bar and restaurant and popular haunt for the residents.
