It is a legal requirement for organisations operating HVAC and Refrigeration Systems to comply with the 2014 EU F-Gas Regulation (517/2014).
The F-Gas Regulation creates controls on the use and emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-Gases) including HFCs, PFCs and SF6.
The 2014 EU F-Gas Regulation replaces the 2006 Regulation, introducing a number of important new measures.
The 2014 Regulation makes use of various thresholds, using "CO2 equivalent".
The new F-Gas regulation is no longer based on the quantity of refrigerant in a system (kg), it is now determined by the Global Warming Potential (GWP) in tonnes of CO2.
