Legislation has been put in place to control emissions from fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases), including hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
The EU's F-gas emissions will be cut by two-thirds by 2030 compared with 2014 levels.
Operators must keep records of their plant and any leaks from and additions to their air conditioning plants.
At the end of the equipment life, a record of the refrigerant extracted must be made.
The names and details of operatives and companies carrying out the work must also be recorded.
